Val's Day

Well, it's Valentine's Day. But does anyone really know what that means?

Today is a holiday for some dead saint named Val (for short) who led a secret church during Roman times and was executed for it. Today is the anniversary of his death. Not his birthday. His deathday.

And to celebrate it, people get lovey-dovey and give out pointless pieces of paper with cutesy cartoons pasted all over them. Sometimes, even naked babies with wings and deadly weapons.

Or chocolate.

I don't get it. Here's what today is REALLY about...

"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lays down his life for his friends." John 15:13

Aww. I like chocolate. >_>
I agree with you 100%, though. :P This is a fairly pointless holiday. People should show their love for each other 365 days of the year, not just one. Still, it's kinda nice. Or maybe I just like chocolate. lol
